Gecko Creative Writing
Stephen Ferrett’s Collection of Poetry & Children’s Books
Welcome
Stephen Ferrett, founder of Gecko Creative Writing, turned to poetry and children’s literature as a way to navigate and cope with the profound grief and mental health challenges he faced after the tragic loss of his son to suicide. Through writing, Stephen discovered a path to process his trauma, finding comfort in creative expression and sharing stories that bring hope and healing to others. His work reflects a deep resilience, drawing from his experiences to create powerful, compassionate stories that resonate with children and adults alike, fostering understanding and emotional connection across his audience.

Poetry Library
I regularly write about mental health and wellbeing, bereavement, and loss. Some of this poetry is dark. However. I also write about my personal journey coming back to the light and my healing path and the support I have been given by those closest to me.
